Anthony Davidson is another F1 rookie who has never been given the car his talent deserves
'Mad Ant' made two appearances for the
Minardi team in 2002, replacing
Alex Yoong. Despite doing a far better job than the Malaysian in those two races alone, Davidson didn't receive any offers for a 2003 drive.
Since then he's been
BAR's official reserve driver, making his only start at the 2005 Malaysian Grand Prix, replacing flu-stricken
Takuma Sato. His BAR debut lasted a total of just two laps, before both his and team-mate
Jenson Button's engines failed. In the past year he has been linked with
Williams,
Sauber and
Red Bull. BAR's signing of
Rubens Barrichello for 2006 looks set to leave Davidson out in the cold again. His best chances lie with the newly founded Midland, who are taking over from Jordan for 2006, or the Honda-backed Super Aguri team.
