Founded by:Jack Brabham

History:

The Brabham Racing Organisation began life in 1961. Founded by Jack Brabham and Ron Tauranac, they became the last team run by a driver to win the title, and the only Australian constructor to ever take a title.

Having won the title in 1959 and 1960, Brabham chose to take on a new challenge. It took until 1966 but eventually the team did it, and Brabham took his third title. A year later Denny Hulme took the title for the team.

Brabham chose to sell his shares to Tauranac in 1970, but the team would still be known as Brabham. Two years later the shares went to F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone.

The team returned to form at last in 1981, with Nelson Piquet taking the first of his three titles. The second came the following year before he left to join Williams. 10 years later the team folded, however not before they produced another young talent, Damon Hill. The team also gave a debut to David Brabham, son of team founder Jack.
