Well well well where to start? I suppose I'll start by saying that there really isn't much point in reading any more of this review.
The best bit of the 2004 Hungarian Grand Prix was, well, the end. Aside from that, nothing. Unless you include a Minardi mechanic spilling his drink of Lucozade or Zsolt Baumgartner actually making it onto the grid without spinning.
At the start 20 cars lined up in a couple of rows, ten in each. Then they started driving. Apparently this rare phenomenon was called a 'race', but it didn't seem like it. I looked up the word 'Race': 'Contest of speed', so it said. Speed maybe, contest certainly not. As I turned my attention to the programme, I saw the words Grand Prix etched on the cover. From my days learning French, I realised it meant big prize. I think the prize should've gone to the person who stayed awake throughout the sixtyten laps of this 'race'.
Anyway, the procession went on, with the 20 cars continuing round the track, occasionally going into the pits. This was a chance for the drivers to take a break from the boredom for a few seconds. Some of the drivers got completely bored and decided to park their cars by the side of the track, presumably to go and do some more interesting sport such as fishing in the nearby river.
With a few laps to go, a couple of red Fiats were leading, having obviously decided to refuse the obvious temptation of giving up. I don't know whether he won, as I spotted a man getting soaked by a leaky waterpipe. I turned my attention to him for a few moments, it was the most fun I'd had all day. By the time he'd gone I realised that the cars were also gone, having obviously decided that this 'big prize' wasn't big enough to bother trying for. So ended the boredom.
