Patrick Friesacher began the 2005 Formula 1 season at Minardi, but won't finish there.

The man who finished fourth in the F3000 championship last year was thrown into a Minardi seat, but has had little success, being outperformed mostly by team-mate Cristijan Albers?. He scored his first and only points at Indy with sixth place, but his sponsorship money dried up just two races later and he was replaced by Dutchman Robert Doornbos.
