The Toleman TG184 was the car which would start one young drivers career and end anothers.
In it Ayrton Senna came a fabulous second at Monaco in 1984 and Johnny Cecotto crashed heavily, injuring himself and subsequently retiring at Brands Hatch.
The car itself was made from kevlar bodywork which was compromised by the team's Hart engine not being designed to carry any weight. This mean a sub-frame had to be added making the car heavier than it really should have been, and losing the advantage the kevlar had given it. The chassis weighed a total of 65 pounds.
Where the car gained the most advantage on it's predeccessor was in the aerodynamics. Improved aero caused the chassis to be a lot faster than the TG183B.
